Rock & Ice reported Austin as one of the best urban climbing areas. It's efficient, convenient climbing, with year-round climbing weather. The approaches are short, and each area is within 35 minutes of the city. (One is downtown!) Austin's excellent restaurants, music and nightlife make for great evenings.

Time your trip with SXSW Music (or Film) Festival or Austin City Limits for extra fun after climbing. Or chill with camping on 1,000 acres at Pace Bend. Too quiet? There's always fun on 6th Street, the Live Music Capital of the World's tamer version of Bourbon Street.
